The Steering Committee for the Social Media Club of Southwest Florida met recently and began planning a number of initiatives for our club. There is a great deal of enthusiasm surrounding the club’s efforts up to this point and the Steering Committee is anxious to roll up our sleeves and begin.

If you’re interested in participating in the planning for various club initiatives and events please consider attending a future Steering Committee meeting. Anyone interested in helping to promote the use of social media in Southwest Florida is encouraged to attend and participate from a leadership standpoint.

Going forward, Steering Committee meetings will be held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 12 PM. The first Steering Committee meeting was held via conference call which worked quite effectively. Committee members are also working to establish some virtual collaboration tools.

Topics discussed at the first meeting included membership, the club’s website and blog, event planning for the next 12 months and social activities. Various steering committee members have volunteered to take a leadership position for each of these specific initiatives. Again, all are welcome to participate from leadership and planning standpoint.
